(1) This is the newer version on how to link to a sermon file (2013)
Update the listing page:
- Log into http://test.truelightlutheran.org/wp/wp-admin
- Go to the listing page
- Mouse over the “listing” page and click on “Edit“
- Add date and title to appropriate section
- Highlight date and title and click on “Add Media” icon in toolbar above.
- In the “Insert Media” page, select “Audio” in the “All Media” pull-down menu
- Selec tht desired file and click “Insert into Post” at the bottom.
- Back on “Edit Page“, click “Update” to save and publish the page
- Click “View Page” above the toolbar to verify the changes.

(2) This is the older version technique
This is weird, but it works. Print these instructions out or keep it on a separate window tab.
- go to Dashboard; Media; Library
- click on the NAME of the file you want
- WP will display an EDIT MEDIA page
- on the right side column, find a sub-menu named SAVE
- in the Save menu, find FILE URL
- highlight and copy the URL (ctrl-A; ctrl-C)
You now have the full link saved.
- Go to the edit sermon page, highlight your title, click on INSERT LINK ICON
- Sometimes the Link Icon stays greyed-out. By typing and erasing text, it will re-appear. Seems to be a bug in this version of WP.
- paste the saved link (ctrl-V)
- Don’t forget to update the page
